Default Extremely slow sms sending/receiving - 09-06-2007, 11:26 PM

I have noticed that my text messaging is getting extremely slow to send and receive. Every time I try to open a new text message my blackberry stalls out for anywhere from a 1 minute to 2 minutes. Once a message is already opened it will re-open quickly, but not when it is new.

The same problem occurs after I send a text message; the blackberry stalls on sending for about a minute or more. Any suggestions that doesn't involve reloading the entire OS?

Note: my inbox isn't very full and i don't believe this is a network issue.

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry 8700g: BlackBerry8700/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

Try pulling the battery for about a minute, then reinsert.

A little better, but still about a 30 second to a minute delay.

My blackberry pearl 8130 is doing that as well. I removed the battery and put it back but that hasn't changed a thing. Any other suggestions?

options > SMS > preferred network > change to GSM on the GSM devices obviously. also if the encoding is 7 bit, change to 8, if its 8, then change to 7
