Hey guys, my phone crapped out and im on a prepaid plan through alltel, a friend of mine gave me a blackberry 7250 and i was curious if this can be activated to be used just as merely a phone, I would not want the data service of any kind, I just want to be able to make and recieve calls, i don't see why this would be a big deal but alltel is telling me these can't be activated since prepaid doesn't have the option for data service but im not wanting that, this lady sounded very unsure of herself, before i go back and make a big deal out of things could you guys give me some advice on if a blackberry should be able to be used on a prepaid plan

yes, its possible to use a 7250 strickly as a phone.

Is the BB from Alltel as well? If so, just call back and explain what you need, overly nicely would be a plus .... if CSR does not respond positively, hang-up and call back again... don't lose your patience, remember, customers are at their mercy . . .
