Exclamation 7290 problem NEED HELP - 07-12-2005, 04:33 PM

i have a cingulargayness 7290...my friend has a tmobile black berry phone not hanheld ... when i call his phone, instead of me hearing ring ring rin, his phone plays a songfile (jay z song) . how do i make my hanheld do this!!!!!

Seriously you need to read up in the forums on how to use a midi ringtone. E-mail yourself the link to the tone you want. Like http://www.somewebsite.com/jayzsong.mid

Only .MID files will work.

im not talking baout a ringtone...im talkin g about what u hear when u call someone, instead of ringing it plays jayz

You can not set a specific ring to a specific caller.

I think you mean an actual caller tune. Not ringtone. For example, you pick up the phone, dial a number and instead of hearing 'ring ring' in your ear, you hear a tune such as Jay Z. I think this feature is called caller tune and is only available on T-Mobile I believe. This is true in the UK anyway.

This is the T-mobile callertunes service, it has nothing to do with the handheld. Cingular doesn't have this.

Some carriers have begun offering this service. Personally I think it will confuse people (like my parents or boss).
