Default New to Blackberry - 03-22-2008, 08:14 AM

Hi,

I'm new to the whole blackberry community. I recently purchased a Blackberry 7280 on eBay unlocked and I am currently using it on a prepaid T-mobile account. I was just wondering if there is anything i can do other than use it as a phone and sent SMS messages.

In addition, i have found out that my current blackberry is actually out of date, but when I attempted to update it i got a note that said something about after the update i can only make phone calls and send messages wirelessly. should i update my Blackberry? I don't have the BES or anything like that that i know of.

Thanks,
Eric

I don't believe TMo offers any data plan with a prepaid accout.
The only updates you can do are OS upgrades. Look at the TMo website for your model, and download the OS from there, or find specific directions to upgrade in the faq section here.

And, welcome to the bbf.

Welcome to the Forum, NyAznBoy64!

This link might help: How to use BlackBerry on Generic Data Plan - BlackBerryFAQ

I would like to suggest to get a BIS plan if you can afford it. Your BB will truly shine with it.

Happy thumbing!
