Default 7290 and ATT -- Recommended Plans? - 04-17-2008, 09:57 AM

Complete noob here -- bear with me.

So I just bought a 7290 over eBay, the unit works fine. I little roughed up, but I only paid 40 bucks. I think I'm going to like it. I have three initial questions and I think I'll be good to go.

1. Taking the SIM card out of my old phone and into the 7290, all data is transferred except for my address book. My texts show up, pictures, but no phone numbers. Any thoughts?

2. I don't have a Blackberry Data plan. All I really want is a browser, an email app, and a phone/SMS. But before I walk into the store and get slammed with sales pitches, is anyone familiar with a fairly basic BB Data plan that won't have me paying an arm and a leg? My carrier is ATT Wireless.

3. Gmail compatibility? I ran a search for Gmail application on the 7290 and the only thread that turned up didn't seem to give a very clear answer. More trouble than it's worth?

Peace,

1. I think you should transfer the SIM card addresses to the BB Address book.

2. You need the BB Data Plan for what you say you need.

3. Try it, it should work.

Default Re: 7290 and ATT Recommended Plans? How to copy SIM address book - 05-18-2008, 02:15 PM

Click on address book, click trackwheel in address book and select SIM phone book. From there you can copy your SIM phone book onto your phone's address book.
