Exclamation wiped my handheld and it's not working!! - 04-27-2008, 12:40 PM

well i ordered a blackberry 7290 and recieved it a few days ago.. it's been working fine but i've been battling my way to get the internet to work.. (still haven't succeded..) so i decided that i want to go a for a 'hard resetting.' which
i went though by: options>security> wipe my hand held> typed 'blackberry'

once i did that.. it was going through a LOOONNG process of erasing data.. so i removed the battery for about 5 minutes, when i turned it on.it had the loading logo..which i THOUGHT was a normal thing.. connected it to the charger.. then it went ok after a while.. (i'n not sure how long after because i slept untill the next day because it was taking soo long..) but when i woke up it was normal.. then i went BACK to the process of trying to get the internet to work on it.. i had um.. mini oprea on it.. so i tried that and it came wiht a few pop ups talking about some connections.. i checked the boxes and then clicked allow these connections. after a few times.. because it kept on coming up.

after this i just took out the battery again. replace it and now it's been on this loading sign for ages.. (the hourglass rotating..) it still hasn't come off that for athe past few hours now.. HELP!!

Welcome to BB Forums.

eBay?

What you did is not a hard reset. That wiped out customer data but did NOT wipe out the programs or OS.
