Default BlackBerry 7250 Keys Not Working Correctly - 05-05-2008, 07:06 PM

my blackberry has been working fine except for today. my keys won't do what they're supposed to. when i text someone i'll hit a letter and automatically a "qha" with appear. i have autotext off so it can't be that. and now my trackwheel and the side button and the arrows on either side of the space key won't do what they're supposed to. my phone somehow locked itself and i couldn't unlock it so i accidentally dialed 'emergency call'. i don't understand what's going on. the texts send fine and (when it works) i can talk to people no problem but the buttons won't work.

i haven't gotten any water or pop on it either.

also just now i tried to send a text and a bunch of * and # appeared after i stopped typing. i tried to hit the delete button but it kept coming back so i had to hit the fingernail looking button on the left along with the delete button to actually delete it.

Wirelessly posted (8700g)

Moisture is the likely cause. You should remove the battery and give it time to dry. Uncooked rice has been recommended as a dessicant.

If not moisture, I don't know. Hardware failure? See what others say. Maybe time for a new blackberry.
