First of all I'll introduce myself. My name is Erich and I recently bought my first BB. I live in Indiana and work in Louisville , KY. Some of my hobbies include VW's, laptops, and any electronic gadgets.
Now for my questions. I have a 7520 that I bought and it evidently has an IT policy on it. I am unable to install 3rd party apps. I am using a Boost mobile sim with data plan. I tried to install opera mini to web surf but it wouldn't install. I always get an error. I can make phone calls great. It gets a better signal than my motorola boost phone. Searching the apps I found opera mini already on the phone but I don't know how to open it.
I've read the threads about installing the policy.bin file and they are all pretty old. None of the links seem to still work. Are there any that are still active? Is that what I really need to do to get the web browser to open?
I've been told no,no this won't work, but I've seen people post elsewhere that it can. I know the BB apps won't work but all I want to do with this phone is make calls, web, and possibly for a phone modem. PLUS get rid of my $100 a month verizon phone bill that I don't even have the data plan for.
Sorry for the length but I wanted to explain what I am trying to do. If you need more info just ask. I am really at a standstill right now. I can still use the motorola boost phone and check email, but i would prefer the BB with the qwerty keyboard.
Thanks for any help you can give and I look forward to being a member of the forum.

Ok I followed the instructions but I don't see where it did anything. It still says in my general settings IT policy name:default. Is that supposed to be there?

Does anyone know? I would think since there is a default still there it would use it first? Any help is appreciated.

Ok so my IT policy still says default and it won't delete. Next question is service books. my phone had no service books at all. I found on another site that said I needed two books, web client and provisionary??? there were instructions and I actually got the web client on my phone. It is the first thing that actually worked. I stll can't open opera though. So thats where I'm at.
