Default synch - method to the maddness? - 07-13-2008, 10:33 AM

I've just bought my first BlackBerry and I'm still trying to get the hang of a few things. One of the issues I'm trying to figure out is concerning my contacts in Outlook. I've got hundreds of contacts there and most are just email addresses. Is there a way to synchronize just the ones that have phone numbers in them?

Thanks.

I'm not sure how to answer your question directly, but what I did is created a "phone contacts" subfolder and copied only the contacts I want synced to that new folder. Then in Desktop Manager, you can tell it to sync with the new subfolder you just created. Hope this helps.

Yep the above method is the best. If you go into desktop manager and then sync, advanced you *might* be able to set a filter but without a pc in front of me I can't recall off hand.

It took some fiddling, but I think I found a way that works for me. I've created a new category in Outlook and then created a rule in desktop manager to sync that one category. So far it seems to be working. Now I just need to undo all the other stuff I did before that.
