Default Battery drained...shutting down handheld...? - 08-02-2008, 09:12 PM

I just got the 7290 model off ebay and i was wondering if anyone could help me solve my issue. My battery says that i have 95% battery life and then all of a sudden the message "battery drained, shutting down handheld appears" and then it shuts down. I was wondering if there was a reset I could do or something to solve this or a number i could call. If there is nothing i can do i can just return it to the guy. Help is much needed and appreciated.

Wonder if you bought your phone off ebay from the same person I got mine from. I got it in on Saturday, went out and bought a house, car and laptop charger for it and turned around this morning and went to batteries plus and purchased a $30 battery. Phone is still saying the battery is drained and it is shutting down.
Is this a problem with these phones.

Try updating it to the newest OS for the device:

You may have a bad connection to the charger OR the battery terminals inside the device may be corroded. It happens if the device got wet or was in a very humid area.

It will take several hours (4-5) to charged a fully drained battery. I got one recently, a factory refurb battery, and it took over an hour to get past the 15% charge mark.

Be patient.
