I just dl rom 351 and flashed my 7290. It helped break down the firewall and I can use 3rd party ware like Opera Mini . I did not have BB data plan and used only generic data service.

I have never updated my OS (I currently have 4.0.0.219) so I am not sure what steps I need to take before updating. Do I need to do anything to back up my address book and preferences? Thank you in advance.

Please stop posting in multiple threads. You have one open and people are trying to help you there. One thread. Not three.

Without a BlackBery Data Plan, you are very limited.
