Default 7730 Prefetc Exception Error. - 05-27-2009, 04:05 PM

Hello,

My 7330 which I bought second hand, was showing a Prefetch Exception Error after a week.. I pressed all the buttons and still, the Prefetch Exception Reset remain display on the screen even i replaced the battery. What do I have tol with this fatal error ? my 7330 is no longer working now ! I hope someone can help me.
Btw: The 7730 has an Orange logo on it, don't know or it's simblocked ( that it blocks all sims cards except Orange )

Edit: I pressed the small Reset button under the text "RIM".
And now I get the text "Underfine", and a box below it which says "Reset" if I press the R button it goes off, and a second or two later I get the "Underfine" text again.

Greetings

I don't know what the error messages mean, but if clicking the reset only results in the blackberry rebooting to the same error, and if a battery pull does not resolve the problem, then my opinion is you'll need to wipe the blackberry and reinstall the OS.

Is there any possibility you'll help me with the programs ? I don't know anything about Blackberry's or PDA's and stuff, and Orange is like gone in this country, it's fused with T-Mobile and the T-Mobile cards don't work in a Orange device...
I'd hope you could help me find the right OS and all...

I'm the worst person to help you. I've only wiped a blackberry once, and it was a piece of cake. If you hit a snag, someone will help.

You can check with your carrier to see if they have the OS, or see this post: http://www.blackberryforums.com/rim-...tml#post782711.

You can use any carrier's OS so long as it is for your model blackberry. Follow the instructions in the faq.

Also, by the way, do you have desktop manager installed on your desktop (or laptop)?

You'll need desktop manager. See

BlackBerry Desktop Manager Downloads - BlackBerryFAQ

The latest version is 4.7, I believe. If you are using an older version of Outlook, you will want to download and install version 4.2 SP2 (or SP3, if there is one). There are versions with and without media manager. You don't need media manager, and the version without will be a smaller download.

Here's another link to OS downloads.

BlackBerry Operating System Downloads - BlackBerryFAQ

Remember, you can use an OS downloaded from any carrier. Only condition is that it must be the OS for your model blackberry.

Download and install desktop manager (the desktop software) on the computer. Make sure desktop manager is closed. Download and install the OS (device software) on the computer. Download and install JL_CMDER. (See links in post above.)

Follow the instructions at the FAQ to wipe the blackberry and then install the operating system. (See links in post above.)

I only mentioned Outlook because the latest version of desktop manager only supports the newer versions of Outlook. Only an FYI in case.

Have you started on the wipe and reinstall?

Wirelessly posted (8820)

1 - Your blackberry is not working, as you say. It is not going to start working on its own if it hasn't after several battery pulls.

2 - If it is not a hardware problem--i.e. it is software--you are not going to do anything that can't be recovered from by attempting a wipe a OS reinstall.

3 - Make sure you have everything--desktop manager, the device software--before you wipe.

If you mess up, start over and try again.

I'm not at a computer. I'm mobile.
