Default GPRS on 7230 - 05-31-2009, 03:53 PM

Hi!
I bought bb 7230 on eBay. It is unlocked.
I can call, i can send sms.

But GPRS-applications i loaded (Opera) say i have no Internet connection.
TCP i set, it is fine.
I am on Russian provider with no BIS.

I also tried to load service books for BB internal Browser, but the thing is this model does not support service book load through desktop manager? -- When i send service book to device DM says it is loaded fine, but service book records do not appear in my device.

Any ideas to make GPRS work?

Doyou have a BlackBerry data plan through your carrier?

1st Step in Troubleshooting: Do you have a BlackBerry Data Plan?
2nd Step in Troubleshooting: Pull the Battery.

My data plan includes GPRS which works fine on another device, but i can not access internet with bb 7230.
I have no special blackberry data plan. Is there any trick to make bb 7230 GPRS work without bb data plan?

Wirelessly posted (8820)

Depends on what you mean by work. It is possible you will be able to use some third-party applications with the carrier's data service. But you will not be able to use blackberry data without a blackberry-specific data plan. Plain and simple.

You need the adecuate service books and to follow the procedure described here:
bb .anworm .com/ (remove spaces)
or here:
www . howardforums.com / showthread.php?t=1530734 (remove spaces)

or google search for "Blackberry without BIS"

is not easy to find the files you need, but if you invest some time on it you will have it working.
