Default Blackberry 7290 Phone? - 06-04-2009, 10:53 PM

Ok well i just purchased an Unlocked Blackberry 7290 off ebay and everything connects to my network (Rogers). Except, i looked online at the user manual and it explains how to use the phone.. I can not figure it out.. Whenever i press the numberal keys it comes up to my address book/email.. and when i press the phone button at the top of the phone nothing happens.. I was just wondering if i had to enable phone use or if it even has it.. Just really confused.. Would really appreciate any help. Thanks.

Welcome to the foums!

Take out the battery, and look in the battry area...do you see any small stickers that are pink or red colored?

1st Step in Troubleshooting: Do you have a BlackBerry Data Plan?
2nd Step in Troubleshooting: Pull the Battery.

hmmm..it is possible that you purchased a water damaged device. The sticker that I had you look for is a liquid damage indicator...if there is no liquid intrusion, the sticker would be white. Moisture turns it red. No sticker at all may indicate that it was removed, and there was probably a reason for that.
