For internet and email, you need a BB data plan. Call your carrier to see if they provide such support and have them add it and provision the device. If they do not support the BB, then you are probably out of lucjk for email. You can use a generic data plan for Internet, but it is only a work around at best. Check the FAQ for more information.

You need to install Desktop Manager in order to connect your PC with the BB. Since it is an older device, you should probably install DM 4.2 SP2/SP3. From our FAQ, you can find it here: BlackBerry Desktop Manager Downloads - BlackBerryFAQ

No,i do not have the BB data plan from my carrier MTN. Apart from my carrier, is there any other means i can enjoy email and internet-in case the carrier plan is too expensive for me. Pls explain the BB dataplan and the generic dataplan as well.

i installed Desktop Manager 4.1.1 version on my windows vista.

Thanks

As I said in one of the MANY other threads you opened for this, there is no such thing as a series specific data plan. A BlackBerry Data Plan will work on ANY BlackBerry.

You should start reading here: BlackBerry FAQ - BlackBerryFAQ

MTN does have the BlackBerry Data Plan. MTN is the African carrier, on which my niece is using her BlackBerry with full data usage. Follow the instructions given and call MTN.

They do not sell the 7290, but the data plan for the BlackBerry does cover the 7290

then you will have to make a choice to do without. Sorry. I can't afford jet fuel, so I never bought a personal jet.
