Default my blackberry erased itself - 08-03-2009, 01:25 PM

i bought it from a friend and she forgot to take the password off and she wouldnt answer the phone or anything so i could get it unlocked so stupid me kept putting in passwords and it said it was erasing everything so now when i turn it on and try to use it with my sim card it has the hourglass on it like its loading and it doesnt leave that screen. is there anything that i can do to fix this so that i can use it. i really really need this phone to work. the one im using now is about to go for good

Well, good news I think is that with the auto wipe after incorrect password, would remove the need for a password as it wipes all data and resets the device to factory default.

Take the battery out of the device for about 2 minutes. Then put it back in and see what happens. If the device is not unlocked, then your SIM card would have to be from the same provider that your friend use.

The wipe feature may take some time to go threw but it will finish.


For the first time I feel the future might hold something different for me. It's possible I'm fooling myself but I'm willing to take the risk.
