Default BlackBerry doesn't call - 09-18-2009, 12:48 PM

Hello!
Some problems wirh my BlackBerry. Few weeks ago I bought BlackBerry 7230 locked with Vodafone. Few days ago I've unlock it. But it seems there're some problems. I can get calls on it but I can't call from it. Some persons said that's happened bacause of some secutity settings on it. But... I can't change it.
Can You help me about that?

Sounds like an old IT Policy might be causing this.

Remove IT Policy - BlackBerryFAQ

To check if you have an IT Policy, go to Options > Security > General Settings and look at Services. If it says anything but *** no services *** then you have one. Even "default" is an IT Policy.

I heard about Policy problems but... My 7230 OS is 3.7. There is no possibility to wipe it. I believe because of old OS. I installed BB Desktop Manger Software and then Handheld Software and tried to update OS using Application loader. But no success. "No system software was found for your handeheld..." I wiped it by entering wrong password 10 times.
Anyway. The BB OS is not changing and password is still active. I think the reason of it is old OS.
Any more ideas?

Try to update you OS

Go here https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads...05D7C424EBAE5F

Then select 7230 from the drop down. Then select the first Download link... Should show:

Software For BlackBerry 7230 Wireless Handheld(TM)

BlackBerry Handheld Software v4.0.2.49

Package Version: 4.0.2.49
Consisting of:

* Applications: 4.0.2.35
* Software Platform: 1.6.1.51
* File name: 7200M_PBr4.0.2_rel49_PL1.6.1.51_A4.0.2.35_Vodafone .exe
* File size: 32.5 MB
* Date posted: 09-Jan-06

Note: The Software Platform and Applications version numbers can be found under Options-About screen on the handheld.

That is the most recent OS for your device AFAIK.

To install the OS, follow these steps : http://www.blackberryfaq.com/index.p..._BlackBerry%3F
Then try method 2 of the FAQ that rambo posted.
