Default What can you not do on a B/W model that you can no a 7290? - 01-11-2005, 11:14 AM

Doing some research here, I need to know what can you do on the 7290 color that you can not do on any of the black and white models.

Thanks

See the device comparison on www.blackberry.com.

Short answer, 7290 has more memory, better back light, USB Modem, Blue Tooth for Audio, much better radio software, new applications such as image capability and hence much better browsing / 3rd party app experience.

Last and certainly not least, 4.0 compatability.

...and depending on the model you're comparing to the 7290, the 7290 accepts J2ME Java midlets, some older B&W models will not, but they will run some C+ programs designed for them.

- Install more software (7290 has twice the memory).
- Better reception than the monochrome models.
- World phone (all four major GSM bands).
- Use more software that are now only designed for color.
- Bluetooth headsets
- Better thumb keyboard
- More readable screen (on 7290)
- Access more websites that requires color to navigate
- Use BlackBerry as a modem for laptop

Thanks,
Mark Rejhon

Well you can try this. Install one of Sushi's themes (if his site is still around) and then uninstall it from the application loader... Presto! You have a black and white phone!
