I spoke with RIM and they acknowledged in the recent versions 0f 4.0.1.x onward they took the default dial from address book feature out. Anyone know of a shortcut like holding the send button on the 7100 that would be helpful for the 7290 to quickly dial from the address book?

I was kinda wondering the same thing, but I got a style that I use that works for me..The speed just depends on how fast you can click and scroll. Its kinda confusing for me to explain, but for Instance in the Address Book I scroll down to a name I want to call.. If you click the track wheel once you get the main menu type deal if you click it Twice you get the View of all the stored numbers and email for that person well you can scroll down to the Number you want to dial and click the track wheel twice and it places the call.
Or if you Scroll down in the Address Book to the name and click the Track Wheel Three times you get a short version of the Menu to chose the Number, SMS, Email ect from. then you just scroll to the the number and click once to place a call.
And lastly If you just have One Number stored to the name and no eamil you just click the track wheel 4times and its placing the call...
I know its confusing as hell in word form.. just mess with it a while, I can place a call rather quickly with that method, like I said it just depends on how fast you can click and scroll..



I would like to know if there is a way or download/program so from the address book when you get to the name and click or press a key Once it Defauls to Just the Number list for that person. Kinda like when you just go in and Click on the nam and then click 'Call - John Smith' the number list comes up.... if you could just click on the name and the call list came up asking wich number to dial that would be hella faster for me. After all there are only so many Speed Dial numbers you can set up.. and I cant remember half the ones I already have set up.. lol..
