Is a Canadian car adapter different than an American car adapter? If not, then check on http://www.eaccess-estore.com for one of the 7200 series car adapters. I was using mine this morning with my 7100t (which has the same mini USB connector as the 7290).

I would imagine 7250 uses the same adaptor. Can anyone verify.

Default US/Canada Power - 02-11-2005, 12:15 PM

Greetings,

I am not familiar with the specific product that you are talking about, however, the power supply standards for automobiles are the same in Canada and the US; ie A 7290 car adapter sold for a US model would be interchangeable with one for a "Canadian" model.

I don't know where you are located, but if you are in southern ontario, niagara area give Vega Wireless a call 905 688 3355. I buy all my stuff from them and have never had a problem.

You may want to try e-bay. They have several listed. Search "Blackberry Car"

I have a rim auto adapter purchased from Rogers - it has the mini usb and works in the 7290, 7280, and 7100r, so I suspect it will work in all BB's with the mini-USB jack.

Yes. Pretty much any MiniUSB charger will work with BlackBerry.

If you buy a non-BlackBerry MiniUSB charger, it will work too -- Just make sure it's minimum 5 volts, 500 milliamps (2.5 watt).

For a BlackBerry MiniUSB charger, don't worry. Any BlackBerry MiniUSB charger will work on any BlackBerry, even if the model number is not mentioned.

(MiniUSB connector is what all the recent BlackBerry models use)

There's no adaptor differences between USA and Canada. All of North America uses the same car adaptors, so it is not a problem. The electrical standards are identical for almost everything that Joe Q Public touches. Car 12V DC, Power Outlet 117V AC (They have to be...our grid is intermixed, and cars are imported into each other all the time)

Thanks,

Mark said "Pretty much any MiniUSB charger will work with BlackBerry." which is a good disclaimer. We have experimented with a number of mini-usb chargers... some work and some don't. ACC-04173-001 is the OEM part number for the RIM item and you know it will work. The Motorola v3 charger SYN0847 will work. The Motorola mpx200 charger SYN0768 will not. You get the idea.
