Default 7250 - My Phone Number - 04-28-2006, 02:45 PM

Hi all,

I'm new here so if this is in the wrong section please move the thread to the right area. I just from a 7290 to a 7250 due to signal strength. The 7250 is with Sprint. My number is all ported and everything is working great. However, when I go into the phone function the My Number still shows the original number and not my acutal phone number that was ported over. I called Sprint and they could really figure it out. So, How do I change the programmed number in the phone to the REAL number?

Thanks!

From the Home Screen, select Options > SIM Card > press scroll wheel and select Edit SIM Phone Number.

I had this same issue with a Cingular Blackberry that I had ported an Alltel Number to.
The Edit SIM Phone Number feature would always say that I was not allowed to do that.
And, the 7250 wont have a SIM because it is CDMA.

Yup, your absolutely correct. I was looking at my T-Mobile when thinking about how to do that.

When I had my 7100g, this used to be a major pet peeve. Just had to learn to live with it.

PLease verify this with someone because I am not sure of it but, in a 7250 I have one btw, if you go to the phone application and type ##000000 and enter it should give you a place were it can be changed, the unfortunate part is I do not know which of the several entries there, is the one to change or if all the entries have to be changed. I would presume to edit all the entries that show the wrong number. But please have someone else confirm this I do not want you to screw up your phone, I know for another reason I was directed there once by a techie that made me make some changes but in all honesty I do not remember for sure. If you look and then call tech support maybe second level can help you.

I think the Mobile Directory # line would be the one to change. The other refernces should show the correct number, as those are the user ids for data, etc.
