I have an old 7230 that I would like to give to a friend as I have no need for it (I have a 7100g now). It was set up with my companys BES and we have an IT Policy that forces a password to be set and to be active every 20 minutes of inactivity.

I don't want a password for the new user as they will be using BWC and not BES.

I have upgraded the OS to V4 and done a wipe handheld on the device but it still forces you to set a password and use it. It seems that the old IT Policy is stuck on the unit.

Is there anything I can do to get rid of this?

Only way to get an IT policy off is to overwrite it with a blank IT policy.

If you are friends with the BES admin(s), you can just ask them to let you associate the 7230 with your mailbox, send a blank IT policy to you, then reassociate your 7100g with your mailbox.

If you are not friends with them, then you won't be able to get rid of it.

But a 20 minute timeout isn't that bad, and you always want to have some sort of password on your device.
