Only way to get an IT policy off is to overwrite it with a blank IT policy.
If you are friends with the BES admin(s), you can just ask them to let you associate the 7230 with your mailbox, send a blank IT policy to you, then reassociate your 7100g with your mailbox.
If you are not friends with them, then you won't be able to get rid of it.
But a 20 minute timeout isn't that bad, and you always want to have some sort of password on your device.
