The "507" indicates that there is no Operating System on the BlackBerry. Here are the steps you need to do:

- Download the latest 7280 OS (same as the 7210 and 7230 - but not the 7290) from your carrier
- Execute the program you just downloaded
- Locate and delete VENDOR.XML on your PC C: drive
- Restart Desktop Manager

Good luck!

It doesn't matter which version you use. Find the latest one and use it.

When you restart Desktop Manager does it detect your BlackBerry?
It's definitely a 7280, right?

In DM, go into Help / About Desktop Manager and click on the Device Software tab. Is it showing the 7230 software installed?

Close down DM and make sure VENDOR.XML is gone please.

Then the handheld software is not installed on your PC.
Are you sure you downloaded the Handheld software - and not just Desktop Manager?

Handheld software should be in same location as where you got DM software if not mistaken you said TMO, you should find it there then. Hope you get this resolved!!!
