Default Blackberry 7230 not starting up - 03-28-2007, 04:25 AM

This is all the info I have to tell you, maybe someone can help.
Ebay sale first off. BB 7230, used, locked to T-Mobile...that's OK, I have a pre-paid sim card in it from tmo...just wanted to use it as phone, organizer, etc...charged batt., started up OK...tried to change time and date, and it shut off...removed batt. for a while, started up again...had to reset, cuz it said to, worked...made call, received call, OK...went home, connected to comp./was recognized, then shut down....3hrs. later after trying every combo of re-starting, still nothing...I d/l desktop mgr. and JL_ pgm. to clean etc...per advice...but can't do anything...is it dead, or just in a coma?...could it have a shut-down period with an unlock code?...I'll never know what that would be...questions, comments, explitives?...please don't tell me I bought junk and all that jazz...I'm looking for some technical advice to get it running. Any tricks, please help and thanks. For the man/woman who gets it working, you will be rewarded in heaven, or wherever you like...

Were you able to 507 the device and reload the OS?

OK, I get nothing except when I leave the battery out for an hour, then I press the power button and the hour glass thinks for :30 then freezes. Once I did this and the vibe stayed on until I took the battery out. I have pressed the reset during the freeze, and it goes away. The red LED flashes > dash, dot, dot if that means anything. Before it read RESET, so I hit the "R" button.
Another time it read RESET and I pushed the reset button. I did see a blank screen with a thin line to, but it worked after that for a short while. Then, I hooked up the BB to my computer, it recognized it, then shutdown. This is where I'm at today 3/27. Now, the seller will replace it, but I feel that maybe someone can get this to work, dispite my little rant; apologies. I'll give it a few more days.

Download the desktop manager and OS for that device, go to the application manager and plug in the phone and turn it on to the best of your ability and keep refreshing until it sees the device and see if you can zap it.

Or try to wipe it with JL Commander

It won't connect, turn on, nothing. Going to leave batt. out a few hours and see if it will start-up later. T-mobile won't let me d/l the software because I guess this is a pre-paid sim to a mobile phone, it says it's not a valid tmo phone number (it's not a blackberry ph. no.); does that make a difference?
Going to work...Later.
