Default Blackberry 7250 crash - 07-14-2007, 09:10 AM

I recently purchased a 7250 off of ebay. I had it for 2 days and when I tried to update the software to 4.1 version the device crashed and is unoperable. The only thing that happen when I place the battery in the device is that the red LED light flashes and that's it. I have purchased another 7250 and my questions are:

1) How often does this happen with blackberries.

2) Is there anyway to reset the crashed device and get it in working order again?

3) What is the likelyhood of this happening with my new device?

I'm wanting to upgrade the software to get the device to support EVDO connections for tethering with my laptop.

Any thoughts or help would be appreciated!!!

Thanks in advance

Scott

Wirelessly posted (8700g: BlackBerry8800/4.2.1 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102)

1-I doubt anyone has any statistics about how often yopur issue occurs.
2- You need to read the http://www.blackberryfaq.com/index.php/Main_Page for info about upgrading your OS and wiping with Jl_cmdr utility.
Good luck.

I would add to the previous post that you probably should not make sweeping quality judgments based on something purchased from eBay; you have no idea what kind of shape it was in or what it had been through when you bought it. The seller might well be honest and trustworthy. But I tend to buy electronics products from people who I can hold responsible (and are willing to be responsible) for the product after it is sold...just for situations like you're describing.
