Dear Group,
i did call tmobile and they are sending me the code free of charge though for anyone who may be in the same situation.
really didn't give me any flack when i asked for the code either.
T-Mo is GREAT with unlocking the device... All you need to be is a member in good standing and have not used an unlocked code from them in the last 90 days....
Is it the same Process for unlocking an Orange Blackberry -

Hi,
I am just wondering if the same process is required to unlock an orange provided blackberry, as i have an 7290 model and i would like to make it sim free
'SIM FREE' implies that you don't want to use a SIM card anymore.
There is no way to do this with any GSM-based BlackBerry.
You always need a SIM card.
Unlocking will allow you to use SIM cards from any compatible GSM provider.
Thanks Penguin, I wasn't sure what unlock would actually do for me. So it lets you move the device to another carrier or utilize another carriers network when you might not have coverage on your home carrier.

um, yea, if you purchase service from both carriers.
