Red face How to view available memory in 7290 - 08-02-2007, 11:35 PM

Hi all

7290 got 32 MB of Flash and 4 MB of SRAM so is there a way of getting the remaining SRAM amount after loading some applications to memory?

Click the Options icon. Then select Status. The File Free line will indicate how much memory is left.

Edit: Reread your message and realize you're asking how much SRAM is left.
Don't have an answer for that one, but will look around for a solution.

I found a utility that gives a detailed breakdown of the BlackBerry's memory system. The utility is free, but it doesn't seem to be available any more. It's called Device Info by Sundara Communications. Here's a site that mentions it: PDAction » freeware blackberry utilities. Does anyone know where we could find this program?

I tracked down the device info utility.

Go to this June 2005 page from BlackBerry Forums: http://www.blackberryforums.com/deve...n-ideas-2.html. About half way down the page, you'll see a message from KonTiki that has a link to "device_info.zip."

If you install the utility, you'll be see separate entries for Allocated Flash, Free Flash, and Total Flash.
