Default Stuck in "alt" mode - 09-19-2007, 06:00 PM

Hi

I have a 7230. I'm not sure if I inadvertently hit some button, but, the "alt" tab stays on and causes my phone to turn on and off constantly (outside of cradle). Does anybody know how to take it out of this mode?

Thanks

Pull the battery. If that doesn't work, you have a physically stuck key. Then only a T6 bit can help you.

thanks, Bjgrim

I've tried to pull the battery. It doesn't appear that the alt button is stuck. It appears that I have put it into this mode. I can still use the phone, but it is just a little trickier...

Not to be too skeptical (some of us here have that problem - Sorry, inside joke), but I don't think there is a "mode" you could set it in that would exhibit that behavior post hard reset. Have you loaded an app that is causing your phone to turn on and off? I haven't heard of such a beastie, but anything is possible.

I understand the "portrayed skepticism" i'm sure this board gets it share of interesting questions.

Nothing new has been added. I turned on the phone on Monday morning and poof there it was.

If you press one of the shift or cap or num keys, does anything happen to the ALT symbol?

Can you provide a more in depth "play by play" and time frames? From where I am standing, it sounds like hardware. More details though would help us help you.
