Red light, Blank screen, Hourglass=Wit's End!
funny a repair supervisor for a phone company, but i have scoured this site and rim site and nothing works. I have found 5 other people with this problem and no particular solution.
I have an brand new8100 -Tmobile. My wife also has the same phone and it works without any issue.
I have wiped, loaded at least 3 different ways, 6 times! and still have this silly issue. At least now, ive got it to the point where ive only seen a error510(but still does its little reboot thing) something with the java software is messed up. Ive also noticed that this occurs when my phone has no connection and searching for a network. Ive set up the options for mobile network to be manual and chose tmo, but the issue still occurs.
It seems that the phone works great when in use, but if its sits idly, it becomes possessed and starts this whole weird process..
i want to call tmo and get a new phone, but after reading the forums, they may send me a refurb and thats not cool, since this thing is brand new and screwed from the start.
So, any advice would be helpful..thanks!

ps..i also downloaded the newest os from tmo and used the sp1 version for windowsxp(i use sp1 on my non-internet computer) and that didnt work either.

Sounds to me like you have the phone options set incorrectly. I think you should call Tmob and talk to a Blackberry person about it, especially if you wife's is fine.

yeah..i was close to doing that yesterday, but the hold time was over an hour..whats settings(options) are you thinkng? ive gone over every setting option in the phone and dont really see anything that would cause this type of issue..

The options for the mobile network. Compare it to your wife's good phone.

Leave it on automatic. however, setting it on manual shouldn't make it reboot. Something is wrong. If you've wiped the device and reloaded the OS and still same problem then I'd say you need to get an exchange. Yes, you'll get a refurb if it's over 30 days old. I've never had an issue with TMo's refurbs. They look brand new.
