Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry 8700g: BlackBerry8700/4.2.1 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

You may need to clean it. I believe if you perform a search for "How to clean trackball" you will get some hits.

Try pressing down on the trackball with a little bit of pressure and move it in the direction that is not working, see if that works.

Hey guys, i am a complete newb to this whole bb thing, so please bare with me. I am having a similar problem also but my track ball will scroll in all directions fine, when i push it to use it as an enter type key, it wont do anything. Im not sure if i should follow the same procedure in cleaning my track ball or what. I just got this phone 2 weeks ago if not less, so i am very new at this. Thanks

speed, your trackball should not need cleaning after two weeks IF it is a new BlackBerry.

Pulling the battery (while powered ON) and allowing the BB to reboot, often clears up glitches such as this.
