I enabled PTT, am not going to use it, turned it off, and thus have the annoying blue circle at the top of my home screen. Can anyone tell me how to get rid of this? Is there a way to do it besides uninstalling the whole app using the javaloader?

I did the same thing, and this is how I got rid of it:
On your computer, browse to C/PROGRAM FILES/COMMON FILES/RESEARCH IN MOTION/SHARED/LOADER FILES/8100-VXXXX/PLATFORM.alx (Open in Notepad or Wordpad, change “true” to “false” and save file. It will overwrite the existing .ALX file. Run Desktop Manager and it will load new .ALX with modifications)

Change to:

<fileset pttApp="False" Java="1.0" _vendorID="102">
<files>
net_rim_bb_phone_ptt_app.cod
KnJCDE.cod
</files>

Then if you ever need to turn it back on, just change the "false" back to "true".
