| After 36 minutes on the phone with AT&T customer support they finally transfered me to RIM for tech support. Who answered my question in a just a couple of minutes.
Emergency calls bypass everything in the phone, including the SIM card. You don't need a SIM card in the phone to call 911. Since none of the BlackBerry databases are accessed during the call the phone does not (or can not) make a record of it.
The call will show up on your AT&T detailed usage report online.
