Hi,

I am completely missing my trackball assembly. Everything, is gone (don't ask how, its a loooooong story).

Anyways, I do NOT want to pay $60 plus shipping for the one from bbrepairshop that comes with both retaining clips and the trackball assembly.

From searching I have found the one here BlackBerry 8100/8300/8800 OEM trackball- BenQ-Siemens, 3G, LG, Alcatel, Acer, Accessories Store, HTC, NEC, Panasonic, Mot that I am sure everyone is aware of.

My question is this: The one from cnn.cn does not come with the inner retaining clip, and I am unsure if that part is necessary.

Would I be fine ordering this one, and winging it? does anyone have any ideas for alternatives? I do NOT want to spend an extra $40 just to get one with the retaining clip.

Any help is appreciated.

The clip is needed I'm pretty sure. It keeps evErything tight. Witout it it may just fall out on you again. And I just helped one of my brothers friends clean his ball and rollers because it started sticking on him and found the clip was not there. He just bought his in the last month. So they must of done away with it. Anyone have a new pearl and know bout this his is the only one I've ever messed with and I know he didn't loose it cause he wasn't even aware it came out at all till I showed him how easy it was?

I think the word "retaining" explains itself

There is no retaining clip in my pearl and i got it in August and my trackball works just fine.

the retaining clip is not needed

the newer pearls do not come with them
