Default ARG -- More Vista issues

Please Login to Remove!

I uninstalled and reinstalled blackberry desktop 4.2.2 service pack 2 and now it doesn't show up in my start menu. Can not find it anywhere (no actual program in the list of program files, no links in the start menu) except it is in the control panel programs list.

I am learning to really hate Windows Vista.

If you browse My Computer in Program Files, Do you see the Reserach in Motion Directory and if so do they have the programs in the folder. Can you start DM from there?

I've noticed this exact problem with windows Vista myself. With different programs. They install, and theres no shortcut, not start menu folder, nothing, nada. Have to know where you installed it and make your own shortcuts.

Best thing is when you go to uninstall a program, and it leaves EVERYTHING there, shortcuts, folder, start menu folder...etc...but removes it from the programs list...

Vista is so buggy its laughable they even tried to appear like OS X

well, I ended up uninstalling, installing again and finally got the thing tethered (usb, not bluetooth) for modem use, but after the terrible experience with vista, I'm not going to use the vista laptop for backup/media etc. I'll just keep my old xp machine handy for that. Not sure what I'll do about sync -- maybe just use yahoo calender and it's email reminder option. it's unfortunate that vista was my only option when I purchased the laptop.

oh, and it's still constantly asking for a driver location for my "bluetooth device" -- dunno how to shut that off (no options for: go away forever)
