Default Intuitive Pearl MP3 Player

Why isn't a halfway decent MP3 Player offered for the Pearl? I have the most recent OS, and at least it now shows the ID3 tag info, but it's still as Spartan as it could possibly be.

I've given the Dollars 5 app a try, and aside from the kinda cool trackball blinker, and playlist option, it's no great improvement.

The Beta for xPlayer is by far the best out of the three Media Players, as far as speed, function and convenience, but that's not saying much. I don't understand why such a powerful smartphone is lacking an MP3 Player-level interface.

All I want is something like the iPod 4th Gen Music Screen, with an option for Artist, Song, Album, Genre or Shuffle option, and those respective features. Even now the Spartan Media Player has shelved my iPod and iPod Shuffle, but I'm craving a nicer interface.

I hope I'm missing something, and there is some 3rd Party App out there that offers those fairly basic MP3 Player features. I mean even Moto cells have better MP3 functionality.

I guess because it is primarily a business tool, there's not been much need. Maybe now that the BB seems to be gaining a wider audience, someone will write something?

I'm with you and I've heard the business tool argument and don't buy it. You don't put a media player in a business tool (at least RIM doesn't). The Pearl was aimed at the consumer market. To put a media player in the device and exclude such basic functionality as playlist as well as other features simply makes no sense.
