Default Trouble downgrading OS

Please Login to Remove!

I'm currently on v4.2.1.107 but I want to downgrade to v4.2.0.73 due to some issues. I install v4.2.0.73, remove the vendor.xml and start the Desktop Manager... then nothing. I was expecting to see a prompt allowing me to change the OS.

What am I missing?

You should first completely wipe the handheld using javaloader (or JL_cmder) to remove the current OS from the device.

Downgrading via Desktop Manager does not always work properly.
I've actually never seen it work at all.

Ok, thanks for the advice - I'll wipe using JL_cmder. Any idea how I can backup apps, settings and my address book?

One of the reasons I want to revert the OS is that the address book no longer syncs with Outlook, but since the one in the BB is more current I need to backup. The calendar sync still works fine, so I guess the BB will just sync with Outlook after the wipe and everything will be as before. Finally, I guess I'll need to reinstall all apps and reapply all settings (e.g. font size etc) after the wipe?
