Well, just got my blackberry and have been fiddling with the options but cant seem to remove some things. Ive tried looking through the facts, but have yet to find anything.

1) the last icon on the screen which I guess is the connectivity icon? when highlighted, its undertext says turn wireless off/on.
and
2) i can not remove the little blue message bar about 1/4 the way down the screen.

I like streamline and both of these things inhibit the viewing of my background.

is there any way to remove these functions or do i have to just live with them?

Highlight antennae/connectivity icon press berry button select hide

ive tried that. it does not allow me to select hide. i could hide the rest but when i click the options button, it only has displays move application. any wor don the message bar?

Actually, I dont think it lets you hide that icon.

what about the message bar, mine constantly reads "data connection refused"

Go to SETTINGS, then OPTIONS, then MOBILE NETWORK, then turn OFF Data Services.

And the newest OS eliminates the banner altogether.
