ok, this is a little weird but I am confused on the threading of messages on the Pearl. As I see it, it doesn't group all messages with a person (like a treo) but rather conversations. IE:

John is talking to Jim and:

John: Hi
Jim (uses the reply option): Hey whats up

Message threads

John: Hi
Jim (using the new SMS option): Hey whats up

Message does not thread

For some reason though, it seems like even if something is threaded, it still displays it in the inbasket individually. IE: (assume all correspondence is done through the reply function)

John: Hi
Jim: Whats up
John: Nothing much, you?
Jim: Nothing much here either

The inbox displays:

10:05p John
Nothing much, you?

10:00p John
Hi

If you open the message from 10:05, you see:

Oct 27, 2007 10:05:00 PM
Nothing much, you?
Oct 27, 2007 10:02:00 PM
Whats up?
Oct 27, 2007 10:00:00 PM
Hi

So I am confused, what is the point of threading a message if it is going to clog your inbox anyway? Am i missing something here?

You're not missing anything at all, that's how it works. Can't be changed, I know it's very disappointing.
