I have read all the install theme threads and they really don't tell me a step by step on how to do it. Could someone pls . walk me thru installing a theme I already have for my 8100? Thank you guys sooo much. I need to know how and where to put the .cod and .alx and .jpg files. Like I said a step by step and very detailed install procedure would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again.

that page does not say the 8100. is it the same for the 8100? thans for the info also. I did miss that.

It works the same way, that was just written before the 8100.

The easiest manner is Over The Air download, install, BAM, you're done.

I dont have any ota capabilities so I dl the zip and now I'm wondering what files to install? I have 2 jpeg and one cod and one alx. Thanks again.

yes. 7100, 8100, 8800, 8300, basically all can install themes in the same manner. JUST NOT the same themes. Have to have that model series' specific version.

You must have your current version of your handheld OS installed to your PC to do this... Do you have that already?
If not:

Try this, step by step:

* 1 Start Desktop Manager
* 2 Connect the BlackBerry Device to the PC and Desktop Manager
* 3 If you are not prompted to update software, open the "Application Loader"
* 4 Follow through the application loader. You will be prompted to update core applications, but if you installed the same version of software as is currently on the device, only the themes will be added.
* 5 Complete the loader process and wait for the device reboot. You should now have new themes available in your themes list!

K, I have the app loader open and everything seems fine. So, I load the alx or cod or both?
I just got the phone a few days ago and just loaded the desktop software last nite and I have already installed the colored trackball and it works fine, so I think that I'm good as far as what you just posted.

The only thing I have noticed with the colored trackball by Metsfan is that if I set it at a certain color and then go to the gerneral options and set it to do all colors when ringing , it never goes back to my color after the call.
But, to answer your question, yes I believe im ready to go except not knowing what files to load.
