I'm out of the country (Canada) right now... will be back for month of Dec. After that leaving Canada again for many, many months. So I was thinking to pick up an 8120 while home. However, strictly speaking I guess it is not 100% necessary since I already have an 8100.

I was wondering how much prices change between release date and, say, 6 months down the road? How much would I save $100? $200? by waiting 6 months? Also do blackberries have any histories of problems with the first batch of new models of phones?

ycomp, routinely if you even wait a month, you might see a price drop by $100. If you are looking for a good deal, wait the month and check the carriers, as well as here (our Buy Sell section). Normally by then, there will be some brand new unlocked units listed here (or just bought and don't want), from reputable members here.

actually wifi might be useful... but since I have never had a bb wifi phone (or actually any wifi phone), I am not sure how it works.

I assume that wifi certainly will not allow me to use bb email and bb browser without a bb data plan, right? (bb data plan is not an option for me since it is unavailable here)

but I could still use third party apps without paying OTA charges, right?

is wifi something I will have to turn on and off (to save battery power)? or does it simply detect when there is no wifi network and then not use much juice because it is not transmitting any data to it?

if I have a Pearl 8100 already, what benefit is there upgrading to the 8120?

From what I can see it would only be this:
- 2 MP Camera
- Voice notes button?
- WiFi

I'll be able to upgrade to 4.3 on the 8100 also, right? So is there anything else I have overlooked?

is the processor any faster than in the 8100?
