I installed the stupid color ball app, got the "unable to display file" when i tried to play my music. Ok great, searched and found out i have to reload the OS. Follow the sticky to the T-mobile site, download the new OS and newest desktop manager. Follow the t-mobile site instructions, go through the install and check the box, "yes i want to start the desktop manager and finish" just like it says to do. The manager comes up and where the sticky says it SHOULD prompt me to update.... IT DOESNT. I dunno what im doing here, im a complete noob at this so please break it down easy for me. i've backed up all my stuff on the phone just incase i mess something up but can someone tell me how to reload this POS so i can play my music and get to my media.

Did you actually INSTALL the new OS to your PC (that is, double click on the EXE file and allow it to install?

1. Download and install to PC the latest version of Desktop Manager from here: ( BlackBerry Operating System Downloads )
2. Download the new OS you want and install it to the PC
3. Open Desktop Manager and do a complete backup of your current device.
4. Plug in BB and open Desktop Manager
5. Select Application Loader
6. You will be prompted to upgrade

yeah i know how to install stuff on my computer im just new to this installing new os' onto phones. I did all of that and opened the desktop manger, double click application loader and it doesnt prompt me at all.

and yes i deleted the Vender.xml just incase someone wants to know

Boost, if your current handheld OS is what you have loaded to the PC, it will not prompt you to load anything--the OS is already loaded.

If you want to reload the identical OS, you need to wipe the device first.

according to the phone the os is 4.2.0.73 but fug it im gonna wipe it and try and reload it.

Just to be clear, you need to install the desktop manager AND the Handheld OS to the computer. After installing both files THEN delete the vendor.xml. If you deleted it after installing DM but then installed the Handheld OS the vendor.xml will be reinstalled again.

ok got it all updated finally. I wasnt aware that the vender file came back and had to be redeleted. BUUUUTTT...

I have one missed call showing and i cant get rid of it. Fix for that?

check your missed call folder (messages > view folder > phone call logs.
