| AM or FM Radio on Pearl Please Login to Remove! How do I get to listen to the radio on the Pearl?
Do I have to surf to a website and stream? Or just buy special earphones that make it a radio? | | Offline

| Try this: MFRadio - mobile streaming radio
Streams up to 24kbps should work fine.
There is no attachment to turn BB into Hardware FM/AM receiver.

| Yeah, I also tried a few stations from Shoutcast, but they also skip. I used 24kbps. It doesn't look like it is skipping because of the bandwidth, it feels like it is skipping because of read/write or buffer problems within Blackberry.. Maybe it doesn't have the capability to store enough on board, and in the meantime to buffer in the background? Otherwise, it has a very good sound quality.

| Well I got the first sample station to work that they had on there but no matter what else I try it says
Error playing[station name] 24kb http responce 404 resource
Or
Error playing the[station name] unable to connect.
Could you put one of the station addresses up here so I could try one that we know works even if it skips I just wanna rule out a prob on my end.
If you could thatd be great
Thanx in advance.
Ps I have been tryin mp3 format stations so I got that right | | Offline

I don't know addresses by heart, but give this a try: Code: http://205.234.188.21:80 (24kbps)
Here is another one Code: http://4.78.0.70:8002 (24kbps)
good luck, and report back.

| Yeah, That going back is a big problem, and that's what I mentioned in my message above. For some reason there are buffering problems, no matter how small bandwidth the stream requires. It could be a problem with this software, or with Blackberry's way of transferring streams from Java program to Main memory.
If anyone is using Dollar5 player, could you please test above streams and see if they work. I get a great quality stream without any choppiness, but about 2-3 times in a song, it will go back and them come back to where it is, which is frustrating since sometimes there is another song..

| Heyedipin I tried both those you put up the first didn't work have me the unable to connect error. And the second one worked but with the same results all skippy and jumps around the song.
Well I guess its a matter of the pearl and the program in one. Eh I'm guessin we can't realy expect much from a phone "the pearl" which isn't supposed to beable to stream in the first place lol. Think ima check out some threads from the guys who tried the dollars5 player and see if they had better luck with that one.
Ill post back with what I find.
Cheers and thanx | | Offline

they call it unlimited as it might give you far more data transf. than their competitors as it is the case here in UK
O2's best plan is called unlimited despite the fact it is actually just 75Mb/month.
Still a lot in comparison to orange's best data plan which is 8Mb/month.

| Verizon's "unlimited" data plan, according to many other posts I have read, has a cap of 5GB/month. Stay under that and you are OK. Go over that and you could be a target for the data police and end up cancelling your plan. | | Offline
