Default Outgoing bluetooth problem in Holster

Please Login to Remove!

Not sure if anyone has found this to be a problem. I will start out by saying I was able to do this with my 7130...but know cannot with my 8130. Anyway, in the car I use my bluetooth (Parrot). It has voice recognition which is very good. So, with my phone in the holster locked, it will bring up the number but not dial out. Doesn't have to deal with the phone locked, because locked and out of the holster it works with the Parrot, but once it is in the holster...it just disconnects. I see there is an option to allow outoging calls while locked and I have had that as yes & no and neither work. Again this worked fine with the 7130. Now...for those saying just leave it out of the holster in the car...I like it in the holster so I can feel the vibrate if a sms message comes through for work...which does not sound off through the parrot and the radio speakers. Anyway...anyone have any thoughts. And yes...it is a sleeper holster.

Let me know how this works out for you, I have th 8130 but I use the clear plastic holster so Im not quite sure it effects the BB in the same way the full holster that comes with it does. Im going to purchase the Parrot in the new few weeks so this would be interesting for me to know.

There is a known issue on the Verizon Pearl/8130 (using Rim OS 4.3.0.60) where if the phone is in the holster, and you initiate voice dial... it will get all the way though and say "calling...." but instead of actually making the call, it doesn't. It stops right there.

I have fed this back to my RIM Rep who supports Verizon when this was discovered (shortly after release)... No word on a yet.

Something else unknown is... if this is actually fixed in later Rim OS for the 8130... For example Bell is using 4.3.0.66, and Telus is using 4.3.0.65.

Bell and Telus haven't posted the RIM OS they are using for download yet, so we can't try it... and I haven't seen a clearn answer posted by Telus and Bell users...

In another similar thread nearby here I beleive a Bell user said that the new OS fixed the BT/holster problem.
