Default Verizon BIS

Hi,

I was reading though some of the threads here and saw that it seems like if you got to a BIS website you can configure some email things, like filtering google replys out and setting up POP accounts, which I don't think you can do just on the phone itself.

So I went to the Blackberry website and there was a link for Verizon users. I tried to signup using my phone PIN and ESN but a message came back saying I can't use the website and can only use the phone.

Anybody know if I can use the web site for additional features

Just tried it again (which is now my like 4th time on three different days). Used the link above "Where can I log into my BIS account? - BlackBerryFAQ" which is the same place I was before and after entering my phone info I get a popup saying I cannot use an html browser to manage my email, must use phone...

You need to create an account using your Blackberry first. Once you've done that, then you can access your account from your PC browser.

Well I went there on my phone, it's just the same as going to email settings on the phone. Nothing special here though, nothing advanced like I was looking for like adding filters for gamil to not receive sent messages, and no way to setup POP accounts

Thanks, I did make an account but haven't been able to log in yet, but I think it may just take a little to kick in.

I'll check latter and report back again, just so others know

When you create the account, it should create a vzw.blackberry.net email address for you. The username and password you use for that account will be the username and password online.

Well I ended up calling in, and they gave me a new login and things worked. The whole thing was kind of a pain in the butt, and I never really wanted a blackberry email address, which now created a useless icon on my screen (i can hide it but it's still there - what's the real point of hiding anyway, you can still see them). At first everything seemed screwed up because the login was different than the email address I set up and the blackberry email address didn't even work (couldn't be validated) but somehow today it works, which is good cause I didn't want to call back.

Thanks again for your help all

I'm not sure why you say you can still see hidden icons. At least for me, and the last 3 BBs I've had, a hidden icon stays hidden unless I select "Show All".

Make sure after you hide the icon, that "Show All" menu selection does NOT have a check mark next to it.

You can delete the BB eamil address you don't need it, and if you want you can always create another one.

Just delete the account, you dont have to have it I dont. Also when you hide the icon it should be hidden at all times unless you select show all.
