My laptop crashed a while ago which had my Blackberry desktop software stuff on it. I've recently gotten a new computer (that has been the hugest PITA I've ever had to deal with)! I tried going on the Blackberry site to download the software so I can plug my phone into my computer to save files and stuff, but it didn't work. Then due to other reasons I did a complete Windows reinstall and reformatted the entire hard drive and erased everything. Now it's all back up and running again (badly, might I mention) and I've done search after search after search of these forums and everywhere else in general to try and figure out what it is that I'm looking for. It seems like there are too many download options
(versions and languages and this and that) and those that I've chosen so far have not worked at all. If it installs, it won't run, or if it downloads, it won't install (some win32 application error). Can someone please point me in the very specific direction of the correct software that I need to download, install, etc to get my phone to talk to my computer? I just want to be able to use the desktop software that lets you back up your text messages and such and then also be able to open the photo files on my phone and transfer them to my computer. Thank You Thank You Thank You in advance!
I bought my phone back in March through Cingular, now AT&T.
It's a black 8100 Blackberry Pearl.
