Default Voicemail Alert Sign Won't Go Away!

Please Login to Remove!

I have had this 1 then a cassette tape sign in the center of my blackberry for the last week. I do not have any new voicemails in my mailbox. So how do I get rid of this sign?I hope I described this ok. I tried doing a backup then a restore and it did not do anything. I am a newbie to the blackberry so any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Call and leave yourself a voicemail! Then check it! That should remove the icon!

Thanks for the tip but it did not work. I tried sending myself a message and deleted it and the alert sign is still there. Now what.

Try a battery pull while phone is on.

Did you leave a message from another phone and then listen to it in its entirety, and then select delete message. Do you have any skipped messages?

Not sure about other carriers but on AT&T after deleting the message be sure to hit "*" to log out. That usually gets rid of the icon.
