Default Battery question

Please Login to Remove!

I'm looking into buying a battery for my pearl (8100). I'm looking at a price of $15 for one. I was wondering how much the batteries usually cost and how long they usually are good for. I'm probably looking at frequent charge up and then almost fully discharging my battery a lot. I talk a lot on my phone and draining a battery in not unusual (hours long conversations). So I want to have a backup battery which I can quickly swap out to get the phone back up again. I was wondering if I should get more than one for that price? Plus should I look into getting 6 or more of those things to help my friends out when/if they have the same issue or dead/dying batteries. Some suggestions please. The online places are advertising the batteries for around $40 or so... Is there a place where I can find them for less than the $15 price? Thanks for your input.

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry8700/4.2.1 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

With the lithium ion batteries it is not good to completely discharge them! 15 is a good price online in a retail store you'd be looking at 42 for OEM

Thumbs up

Look at sedio's extended life batteries. Theses aren't cheap but they last a lot longer than the oem version and they all come with a replacement battery panel, that is also better than oem. There are reviews of these batteries on this forum, you just have to search.

The first is a Slim type extended battery I actually own this one. The battery life is pretty good. It last maybe 1 or 2 more days than the oem version.

Second is the Large extended battery. The one I should have gotten. From what I've read this battery last a really long time and also makes the phone easier to hold.

They also sell holsters and cases that fit these new batteries. I hope that helps.

P.S. You really wanna be careful when changing out the battery. I've personally seen the latching mechanism on these phones break rather easily. Some of my friends have had problems with this issue.
