Ok, here is my situation. I have gmail. I set up my gmail account for my pearl, then i downloaded the gmail thing from google. Is there a way to stop the blackberry one? Also if not is there a way to only have your e mails come into the email folder and not your text message folder?? Thanks

You can have them seperated. You have to go to generl options under your message settings and then look for the option to seperate.

Messages > Options > General Options > SMS and Inboxes > Change to Seperate > Save Changes

Should work for you then.

MMS is a "large" SMS. It is typically used for sending pictures or videos. You also are not limited to messages of 160 characters in length.

MMS isn't a large SMS at all. It's a completely separate system with no relation to SMS whatsoever.

MMS(Multimedia Messaging Service) is basically a data message used for picture/video/audio messaging on mobile phones. Think of it as an email with an attachment that can go to any cell phone or email address.

You edit your alerts in Profiles for your Gmail sent to the blackberry.

If you also have the Gmail Application, you need to decide which you want to keep.

Correct, the Gmail-only application does not have alerts.

no, it doesn't have alerts. You have to actually check it to see if there is new mail.
