Default Finally - I have my new Pearl...and I have NO questions!

Please Login to Remove!

Thanks in part to all you fine people...

Finally...after waiting weeks for my NE2 to come around, after spending way too much time reading, writing, and obsessing about it, I got my Pearl today...and you guys were right, it is awesome! (OK...I know, I'm in the honeymoon phase big time...but let me enjoy it.)

Black silicone skin fits very well and gives it a really nice feel in hand.

Email setup so easy it's like a dream...just amazing.

Solved my first problem (browser would only go to email setup screen) w/a quick battery pull.

Paired w/BT headset (Moto H700) and BT GPS (Sony) and drove home w/BB Maps showing me my location all the way! Gotta load Google Maps, maybe Nav4all or AmAzeGPS...

Synced my Outlook calendar and contacts via USB to the Pearl, no problems (though only one sync so far, we'll see how things go on future syncs).

Had to solve another problem...no drive icon showing for my SDHC card when the Pearl was connected via USB...a quick search found a post on Pinstack noting conflicting drive letters can cause this. Sure enough, my Pearl wanted drive letter G, which was already used by my NAS drive. Switched the Pearl to H and all was hunky-dory...

Loading many gigs of songs on my 8 GB SDHC card right now via file copy in Mass Storage mode (my laptop SD slot doesn't support SDHC cards). Volume of the speaker when playing songs is very loud...enough to annoy my teenage son (payback is sweet)!

It's just so cool....feel giddy like when I got my first moto flip phone so many years ago.

Telus OS upgrade coming shortly after the songs are done copying.

Thanks to all for all the great info shared here...

Let's hope this honeymoon lasts for a while... ;) (And how do I keep my wife from finding out about "us?!")

No questions? You are obviously not using it to its full potential. And to help your wife deal with this, just get her one.

Her NE2 is in January, coincidentally her birthday month...on the other hand, she's a tightwad, and I have a hard time imagining her forking over $30 a month for the data plan. It's great to be the spender in the relationship... ;)

But did you get the chance to stop at Best Buy to check out the Body Glove exercise pouch?

I did!

It's actually pretty nice, definitely better than the one that VZW is selling. However, like the VZW one, it has lots of openings down each side for buttons/access, so it's not going to keep things dry if water is an issue. But between the two, the one at BB is the one to get if you want one of them. I'm sending my VZW arm band back.

However, I decided to get wireless BT headphones (Jabra 8010 dual set) so I'm just going to leave my phone in my pocket and rock-on while working out w/out wires (wired headset was the main reason I was going to put the Pearl on my arm...)

My wife is playing w/my pearl right now, and is actually saying things like "So...I can get one of these in January when my NE2 comes up?" !!!

If you tell her that it only cost you $50 (after rebate) she is so going to be all over that.

And here is something I discovered yesterday that I think is tres cool (it's probably old news to the BB vets).......when you are on a call, you can actually compose and send texts and emails at the same time.

That is nice...I'll have to try that.

What I haven't figured out yet (and this is not a question, it's a statement of a missing fact) is how to make a call while I'm reading an email...

I know I can switch applications using the BB key, but simply starting to type numbers doesn't work, as they are shortcuts for moving you through the email...
