at first, i thought it was only certain programs, but now i know its the app loader. i just tried to install the .alx file for datavault and i wasnt able to. are there some settings i'm missing?

weren't able for what reason, what error. Posting vague info like that does little to help someone help you.

*i'm running on the latest version of desktop manager...i know it is because the 4.3 screen is different then 4.2. Plus, i was able to sync my contacts so im assuming the desktop manager software works and is compatible.

Do you have a copy of the BB OS installed onto your computer? Just having DM will work for syncing, etc. but in order to install apps using DM, you need a copy of the OS on your computer. That "no additional applications found" error message is indicative of the OS not being on your computer.

Also you have to add the app to the loader for it to work.

Your right. I had to screw with mine all day until I noticed that I wasnt putting the .cod and .alx files in the same folder when trying to add the app with desktop manager. The desktop manager will tell you if the version of the app your trying will not work, by giving the notice screen.

i have tryed to u the uploader and it says on my phone that my pc and my phone are linked up. But when i go to load anything it gives me a issue saying my phone will not work with this app...

I have the same issue, I have the desktop software version 4.3 and my os on my Sprint 8130 is 4.3, but I still get the error message. I have read you have to download to your pc the os software that is on your handset being as there is no download of Sprint os (4.3) for the handset software to be downloaded to my pc, how to I get around this error, can I download any 4.3, meaning not Sprints, like Tellus, will this work, any help please. How do you install the BB OS? does it come with the CD from verizon. I have BB 8130 Pearl from verizon and I can not install 3rd party software thru desktop manger too? can you please show me how to fix this? I can only install 3rd party software thru OTA. Where can I get the BB OS?

Yes, you can. Make sure you follow the directions exactly as posted including the deletion of the vendor file.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't you need at least the OS version as new as what's on your own Pearl to use app loader? (E.g., If you have version 10, you'd need 10 or greater loaded on your PC.)

Can a Sprint 8130 owner (OS ver 4.30.0.71) put the Telus download (OS ver 4.30.0.65) on their PC and then use app loader w/their Sprint Pearl?

newbie here, I'm having the same "no additional applications found..." error and can't seem to get things loaded via the app loader. I tried reloading the software provided with the phone, but nothing's changed. I'm with Bell Mobility, so not sure that I want to update my phone's firmware to the suggested Telus one given that it's already running v4.3.0.66 (Platform 3.1.0.35).

How do you get a copy of the BB OS installed on the PC as suggested?

What version of Desktop Manager do you have running on your PC?

I understand that DM version 4.3 does NOT required the handheld OS be loaded to the PC.

Unfortunately that is not the case. I am running DM version 4.3 and it did require me having the OS loaded onto my PC in order to load apps onto my Pearl.

I have the new 8130 from Bell Mobility and it runs DM 4.3, but I don't have the OS because Bell does not list one at the link you provided. My current OS is 4.3.0.66 (platform 3.1.0.35), so I guess I'm SOL with this problem.

@kwong26, you have two choices, either download and install one of the other carrier OS's or wait on Bell.

@jseah, sorry it isn't working for you. DM 4.3 is still buggy, but I read on here it would work from a trusted user, I did not have any reason to doubt him. It could be your installation of DM4.3, who knows.

Well, I have the latest OS installed 4.3.0.71 (both PC and BB) and the latest version of DM installed, and I keep getting the "No additional applications for your device were found"

I am trying to load GMM from the downloaded alx package and no dice.

No matter what I try, it will not go. I even tried a modified alx file so that it is not looking into directories and it is not checking version. Nothing works. So neat to have an application deleter.
